Martha Brae Rafting Excursion

The Martha Brae River is just 3 miles away from the coastal town of Falmouth Trelawny. It is certainly one of the Jamaica’s  best attraction for over 3 decades.  Falmouth is just 23 miles away from the tourist capital Montego bay and 40 miles away from Ocho Rios and is also the home town of former Jamaican Prime Minister the Hon Hugh Lawson Shearer.
This is a great family spot with fantastic  recreational facilities. There are some souvenir shops, well kept restrooms, swimming pool all on 6 acres of well manicured property. The picnic grounds well situated amidst mother nature where all seems to be in coalesce with each other. The birds chirp happy tunes, the gently wind eases through the tree branches while they sway just as the Martha Brae River finding its way to the ocean 3 miles downstream.
The Martha Brae rafting facility was established some 41 years ago and has not look back since.  Your safety at Martha Brae will never be compromised and this is why the establishment has a complement of over 80 licensed and experienced raft captain. Martha Brae Rafting excursions are quite organized, here the embarking of rafts are done from a concrete pier under the watchful eye of a licensed dispatchers. This is a one hour ride which will rejuvenate the mind,  body and soul.
At the end of the great rafting tour there is an area called “Martha’s Rest” which is also a waiting area for buses waiting to pick up rafters. Here is another hang out spot all design for the comfort of the clients.  One can also find souvenir shops here, lounge area and well kept restrooms.
A tour of the historic town of Falmouth could be a good compliment to this tours. Falmouth is credited with the first town in the western hemisphere to have piped water even before New York City. It is also one of the better laid out towns in Caribbean. Falmouth now boast a modern cruise ship pier attracting thousands of visitors each week.
