How the YS Falls got its name comes from many folks tales, however, the most popular is that the name comes from initials of previous owners of the plantation, John Yates and Lt. Col. Richard Scott. To get to falls is a 10 minute ride where visitors are transported via tractor-carriage, though rough terrain farm land, a definite change from the more urban forms of transit.
