Blue Lagoon
The Blue Lagoon is one of Port Antonio’s natural attractions that appeared in the movies Club Paradise and Coctail. It was thought to be bottom less by the early inhabitants of Jamaica namely the Arawak Indians. However it is currently estimated to be about 200 feet deep.
The beautiful Blue Lagoon inlet is not a beach. It is more like a swimming hole that is fed by salty sea and fresh waters. Snorkeling in the beautiful Blue Lagoon is a treat, be prepared to see a wide array of rainbow-colored fish that only reserved for the privilege who are prepared to brave the this deep yet beautiful body of water.
The colors that this marvelous attraction emanates are recast by the sun making the water seem emerald, jade and azure. Don’t forget to take lots of pictures with the Blue Lagoon being your backdrop. If you will be staying in Port Antonio or coming here on a day trip remember to mention this stop to your tour driver.
