Derrick Harriott reggae singer, songwriter and record producer born 6 February 1939 is reggae music stalwart. Started out at a young age in the music business while a student at Excelsior High School, he formed a due with Claude Sang Jr. He also formed another group called the Jiving Juniors which went on to record to hit singles from 1960 to 1961. Derrick Harriott went solo in 1962 forming his own record label. He scored many hits during this period of solo artist which were all included on his debut album “The Best of Derrick Harriott. His illustrious reggae music career continues through the decades scoring more hits in the 1980s. Derrick Harriott a real stalwart of Jamaican reggae music.
