Desmond Dekker

Desmond Dekker a Jamaican reggae,ska and rocksteady singer/songwriter was a master. He was the forerunner for Jamaican music artist on the international scene with a song named “Israelites”.  He went on to record international hits such as “007” and “It Mek”. At the beginning of his career his songs were rather mild lyrically until he did a string of “rude boy tunes” such as "Rude Boy Train" and "Rudie Got Soul", Desmond Dekker born Desmond Adolphus Dacres July 16, 1941 is a true pioneer of Jamaican music. He past away on May 25,2006 but long live the legend.
